Norton Gathering Town Yetholm 05/09/26

Our annual Norton Owners Club gathering in Town Yetholm near Kelso, started of with the usual melee round the Edinburgh bypass, although it went fine with all the other motorists clearing a path when we were filtering. The run down to Kelso was very enjoyable, beautiful rolling hills, sunshine and empty roads to keep us happy. When we arrived at the campsite, most of the others that had come down on the Friday night, were out on a run, so we got on with the unpacking and putting the tent up. Not wanting to go to the pub too early, we made with a cup of tea on the stove until the others arrived back. We had a good catchup, with some we hadn't seen since last year. Soon enough it was time for our tea and beers, with more great crack. A good night was had by all I think. A few folk were up and away early to beat the forecasted rain, we landed lucky, not getting any of it packing up or on the way home. Waiting to get out of the Soutra café carpark, I spotted a few mates from Perth on their bikes, heading home from Stormin the Castle, which we tagged on at the back of for a while, until I had a need for speed. Thanks to David T. for organising a great weekend.
