5 Mountains and 1 big birthday part 2, Bone Caves 13/05/19

After our long Suilven walk the day before, on the Monday we opted for a shorter hike to visit the bone caves near Inchnadamph. This walk in the North West Geopark takes you up the limestone valley of the Allt nan Uamh burn to visit the caves, where the bones of bears, reindeer and wolves that once roamed this part of the country have been discovered.

5 Mountains and 1 big birthday part 1, Suilven 12/05/17

With my 50th looming, we both booked a week off work and made a plan to head to Assynt for some mountain climbing. After much pouring over maps and route plotting, we compiled a list of possible peaks. Thanks to Gino for agreeing to be our EPOC ( emergency point of contact ) for the week.
Looking forward to the challenge and with the weather promising to be glorious, we made our way North West to our first campsite at Clachtoll.
We picked Suilven for our first adventure, a 12 mile return walk with a bloody big mountain in the middle. The alarm was set for 6am to cook our breakfast and to be at the carpark early.

SCMC Spring Gathering Muckhart Inn 28 04 19

Another chance to meet up with like minded folks to look at and blether about classic bikes.
It was decent weather for a change, usually colder and dreich. Not as busy as it has been previously, maybe we Scots prefer being out on our bikes in crap weather.
We had a good run home on some very small roads via the Path Of Condie.
Thanks to the SCMS for organising the gathering.
