SCMC Spring gathering at the Muckhart Inn 22/04/18

A wee motorcycle jaunt today to the SCMC get together in Muckhart, we were 2 up on Lesley's Triumph Street Triple as the Big Yam was dropped of at the engine tuners in Bonnyrigg yesterday, Lesley losing the coin toss again which meant I was up front. The Street Triple more than capable of hauling us about, such an amazing engine, so much torque and engine braking.
The weather forecast wasn't good for the afternoon but it was only showers thankfully and judging by the amount of like minded folks, the weather didn't matter anyway.
Its always great to meet up with friends old an new and also blethering to folks for the first time, everyone seemed to be on good form, just happy to be out on their bikes.
Lots of great bikes ranging from old Brits and Yanks, classic British, Italian and Japanese to more modern bikes. Thanks to the SCMC for organising the day, hopefully we will all meet up again next Sunday at Eric's Wee Smokie get together in Arbroath.
We ended up at the Heaven Scent café in Milnathort for the second time this weekend, good food and not expensive.

Black Wood of Rannoch Walk 14/04/18

Eventually the temperatures in double figures and a hint of Spring in the air, we headed to Kinloch Rannoch for what turned out to be a great 5.5 Mile walk through and around the Black Wood of Rannoch. Starting off in the back of the Forestry Commission car park at Carie on the South side of Loch Rannoch, the Yellow route took us clockwise with a gradual climb looking down on the Ilt na Bogair gorge below, Scots Pine and Birch trees all around. We stopped  at the top of the hill beside the Lochan to take on some hot chocolate and food as well as take in the peace and quiet, the only sound was that of a Woodpecker hammering on a tree. Plenty of little wakes and pools made by the frogs going about their springtime duties in the Lochan. We followed the well signposted track back down meandering in and out of the forest till we ended up back at the carpark, a great day out in the sunshine and fresh Scottish air.

Sunday and a wee bike run on the Big Yam and the Street Triple over to Tullybannocher for tea then  back over the Sma Glen, a cracking run on not too busy roads, lots of bikes though.
