The Yam was needing some maintenance over the winter, as well as the usual oil and filter change and new front fork stanchions, it needed a new sump, this meant taking the exhaust off which was a good time to renew the header studs and nuts for stainless ones. The exhaust wasn't looking the best so it was taken to bits with all the dirt and patina removed using Autosol and a lot of elbow grease. All the gaskets were replaced during the rebuild. The new Abba Skylift was a godsend rather than having to lie on the garage floor for a change.

Our first bike run of the year was to the annual spring gathering of the Tay Valley Norton Owners Club, this time as a joint event with the Guzzi Club. Thankfully the weather stayed dry for the run over and for most of the day, certainly helping with the great turn out. It was good to catch up with everyone, all happy to be out again after the winter. The Yam was going fine until nearly home when the speedo drive bearing packed in. Thanks to Ewen for helping with a replacement.
