Nearing the end of the year for our bike runs, it was great to see so many bikes arriving at Tullybannocher, the weather certainly made a difference.

Making the most of the weekend. 3/11/17

On Friday night I headed into Perth to take some Fuji Acros photos, no alcohol involved either.

The Trinity Church in York Place which was built for the Church of Scotland around 1858.

This gable end view has not been seen between the Waverley Hotel being built around 1860 and being demolished very recently, back in the spotlight again. The pigeons didn't seem to mind the attention.

Saturday and a change of pace, a last run of the year on the Big Yam through St Fillans which was missing the Mirror Man statue, it was created by the artist Rob Mullholland and installed in Loch Earn in 2014, recently removed by the previous owners of the hotel, hopefully one will take its place as a permanent installation, such a presence, almost human.
We headed up Glenogle and down into Killin for a bowl of hot soup and some pieces, thankfully getting seated near the open fire to get some heat into the fingers and toes, it must have been about 5 degrees out.

Sunday and another change of pace, this time we included Sitka for a walk around Logierait Forest, this time the top of the hill trail 4.5 mile walk, stunning scenery again.

A most excellent long weekend

Thursday night was Metallica on their WorldWired Tour at the Hydro in Glasgow, a quick turnaround after work then a blast down the motorway, we made it to our seats before they started.
They made their way to the stage to Ennio Morricone's The Ecstasy of Gold, more commonly known as the tune in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly film. From then on it was pounding bass, drums and lead and vocals to match, a brilliant show from start to finish.

Friday was a tad more sedate with a trip to Drummond Castle near Crieff for some fresh air and photo taking.

Saturday we went for a run on the Big Yam to Braemar via Kirriemuir and Glenisla, a cracking day made more interesting with a hellish head wind most of the way there and back.

Sunday we went for a wander round one of the  Logierait Woods paths, great views and fresh Perthshire air and only 20 minutes away.

Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club Autumn Equinox Gathering

It was great to see so many folk turning up at the SCMC gathering at the Four Seasons Hotel in St Fillans despite the constant rain, some old British bikes along with Italian and some Kawasaki zed's. Plenty blethering inside the hotel with hot tea on the go to add to the steamy windows, heading out to the carpark occasionally to take photos. It was good to catch up with Dave and Gordon who appeared as everyone else, dripping wet.
