5 mile Leannach Forest, Aberfoyle Walk 10/06/17

Saturday being dreicher than a Scottish Dreich day, we decided to get out for a walk regardless, an hours drive via Aberfoyle to the top the Dukes Pass, parking at the Leannach Forest carpark, waterproofs donned and off we went. It felt good to be out despite the mist and rain, none of the promised views though. No shortage of water in the burns feeding Loch Katrine, the primary water reservoir for much of the city of Glasgow and its surrounding areas since 1859.  Rob Roy MacGregor, the Scottish outlaw was born at Glengyle House at the northern end of loch Katrine.

Sitka still smiling

Very dreich

Sods law that the rain stopped and the sun came out when we made it back to the car.
