After another dreich Saturday and with fresh snow on the Perthsire hills we decided to head to Falkland in Fife to climb the West Lomond Hill, at 552m and a 5 mile circular route it certainly blew away the cobwebs. Well under zero degrees with the wind chill on the top, we took the obligatory photo and a quick cup of tea from the flask before heading down, East Lomond Hill at 461m in our sights all the way down, both hills classed as Marilyns,
a mountain or hill in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland or Isle of Man with a prominence of at least 150 metres (492 ft), regardless of absolute height or other merit. A much needed pit stop was needed on the way home, the Pillars of Hercules outside Falkland fitted the bill.
