TVNOC and friends Strontian weekend 08/06/18

On Friday morning with the sun shining and the Big Yam and the Street Triple packed, we headed to Strontian to meet up with the Tay Valley Norton Owners Club and friends for a couple of nights camping and partying. It was a cracking run on pretty quiet roads, the scenery through Glencoe never fails to impress then onto the Coran ferry, more stunning scenery from Ardgour to Strontian, open roads and not much traffic. We arrived in good time and still in glorious sunshine, the first thing to be done was to break out the midge repellent even before the tent was put up. You don't forget how bad the midges can be over in the West coast, still itching today.
It wasn't long before more happy campers arrived, tents up and good blethers aplenty, trying not to head to the pub too early seemed like a good plan.
Friday night was spent in the pub for our pre booked tea, no chance of a meal otherwise, supposedly they cant get staff to work in the area, plenty beer was consumed till kicking out time.
Saturday some of us headed a Mile along the road to a café for food, not the most pleasant staff but it killed time till the night party. Teatime carry out and a BBQ at the campsite for great laughs and more blethering till bed time again. Sunday morning, still sunny but unfortunately we had to pack the bikes to head home, I'd rather of kept going on the bikes to another campsite but work on Monday won.
